The school is steeped in history but is really moving with the times. In 1999, we went from all-girls to co-educational and in 2003 headmaster Robert Tims became the first man at the helm.

The recently formed St Leonards New-Park is the only independent junior school in this part of Scotland. Pupils can move right through the school, providing a seamless education until they leave for university.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for students of all cultures to interact and embark on a voyage of intellectual discovery.”

Francis Dilley, St Leonards student

The school has an unchallenged record of academic success and most students continue to higher education, with a high percentage going to Oxford, Cambridge and Scotland's first university, St Andrews.

St Leonards was named Sunday Times School of the Year in 2005. However, academic achievement is only one facet of the vital development of talents the school provides, which is why the depth of the IB programme is so valuable.

We give our pupils the opportunity to become confident, all-round individuals who contribute in a positive and caring way to the community and the wider world. The IB diploma is the passport to global citizenship.
