In June 2008 an IB recognition team recognized the Mason Certificate in Advanced IB Studies and the Master’s degree in Advanced Study in Teaching and Learning (ASTL) as meeting the requirements of the Level 1 and Level 2 IB teacher awards respectively.

The Mason Certificate has been developed for teachers who would like to become IB practitioners, and for those who are already practicing IB teachers. The Master’s degree in ASTL targets experienced IB educators who want to further investigate IB practice through undertaking action research and deeper academic study.

IB World Schools in the Americas are state/public, private, magnet, charter, international, parochial and secular and serve a broad and diverse range of students in urban, suburban and rural communities.

The IB Asia Pacific region supports more than 400 schools offering more than 560 programmes in 27 countries. We are responsible for authorizing new schools, evaluating IB World Schools, providing professional development services in the schools and in sub-regional locations, and ensuring that the IB Diploma Programme is recognized by universities worldwide.
