About the universities—University of Bath
The University of Bath has had its Masters in Education programme (including the four units specified below) recognized as meeting the requirements for both the Level 1 and Level 2 awards.
The university’s Department of Education is offering a MA degree in Education that enables participants to reflect upon their experience of teaching and learning in IB programmes. The recognized course is designed for IB teachers with current or recent IB experience and offers participants opportunities to critically engage with the educational principles and practices associated with an IB programme. The course of study includes the following four core units:
- Assessment
- Curriculum studies
- Education in an international context
- Understanding learners and learning
Successful completion of these four units will make participants eligible to register for the Level 1 award. Subsequent completion of the full masters qualification by undertaking the compulsory Research Methods in Education unit and an IB-focused dissertation will lead to Level 2 award eligibility**.
