General Update
It looks like it has been quite a busy month for the Projects team gathering experience and knowledge! Our School Liaison Officer, Han Nguyen, had just returned from a Grant Seeking workshop in Geneva with the IB Development team, which will help in our future expansion! Projects Manager, Glynn Richards, together with Service Projects Officer, Suryanie Ismail, visited Banda Aceh in October so Suryanie could get a first-hand experience of the teacher training workshops that she had been coordinating!
Teacher Training Projects
As in the previous months, the Schools to Schools team has conducted a number of teacher training projects in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia.
Our latest workshop in Banda Aceh, which focused on Learning Styles and Teaching Strategies, occurred at the end of October and was successfully led by our team of experienced volunteer teacher trainers, Alfonsa Rahayu from Sekolah Bina Nusantara, Christien Ekawati from Sekolah Bina Tunas Banga, Veronika Ida Sriguntari from Sekolah Pelita Harapan and Evelyn Pacanza from Siam International in Thailand, respectively.
Once more, Schools to Schools successfully conducted several Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) workshops in Hambantota and Moratuwa in mid-October. The workshop in Moratuwa on Practices in Inclusive Education was led by Dorothy Price from River Oaks Elementary and Zulfica Marikar from Overseas School of Colombo. Page Collingwood Born and Maree Alderson from American International School of Bucharest led the Hambantota workshop on Nutrition, Health and Safety.
We would like to thank all efforts and continued support from our volunteers and prospective trainers through their leadership and service-mindedness.
