Diploma Programme
May results
The start of the school year clearly brings with it the opportunity to analyse and reflect on the results from the previous May session examinations. There is no specific process for doing this, and while some schools will go to formidable lengths to establish long-term processes for data analysis, others, especially when there is a new coordinator on staff, will have less time and inclination to do so. We wish to make two comments:
- Any significant discrepancy between predicted and final grades should be a matter for discussion at a school, with strategies put in place to avoid further occurrence. Please feel welcome to contact the regional office for any assistance in this matter.
- Please make careful reference to the ‘amendments to the General regulations: Diploma Programme’ that appeared this month on IBNET. These contain important revisions to Articles 19, 32 in particular.
First Global Lesson
Please can I ask all of you to consider taking part in the first IB global lesson in October on poverty that is currently being promoted. It is easy to forget initiatives such as this at the start of a busy year, but this is certainly an opportunity to engage in a global forum with a significant purpose.
