Required documents to enter Costa Rica
- a valid passport with at least one blank visa page, even if you do not need one. The expiration date of your passport must be greater than 6 months from your date of entry to Costa Rica.
If you wish to enter Costa Rica to attend the Regional Conference on 4 June 2008, the expiration date of your passport must be later than 4 December 2008.
- Visa is required only to citizens from some countries. See the list of these countries on

- a pre-paid airline ticket to exit Costa Rica or proof of financial resources (USD400.00. -USD 1,000.00 in cash or traveler checks, and/or a ticket to either return to your home country or to go to another country)
Vaccination against Yellow Fever
As from 1 November 2007, The Costa Rican government requires that individuals traveling to Costa Rica from certain countries in South America and Sub-Sahara Africa must have an International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever.
Those countries are: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Peru and Venezuela.
