The examinations administration department is responsible for the successful delivery of two examination sessions each year for schools in over 120 countries. This is achieved through teams of skilled staff dedicated to various aspects of administration, including a team responsible for advising schools on the administration of the IB Diploma Programme, a team responsible for maintaining information held on the IB database (IBIS) for schools and examiners and a team responsible for the administration of subjects. The work is intensive, requires a high degree of personal organization and initiative, and there is an occasional requirement to work out of normal office hours (including weekend working). A suitable applicant will have a high standard of written English, the ability to communicate clearly by telephone and be educated to at least IB diploma or A level standard. Skills must include the ability to use Microsoft Office Word and Excel, an aptitude for using other software packages and customized databases. The applicant should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Previous experience of working in an office environment is desirable.
This permanent post carries responsibility for the administration of Diploma Programme subjects, which involves implementing standard procedures, responding to queries from schools and examiners, using databases and word processing documents.
